I’ve always had a soft spot for these because I dated a girl who had an identical FJ...it was a Texas truck and still suffered from some not insignificant rust. Also er eyes matched the truck and she was 5' of freaking adorable driving it. I was an idiot to break up with her.

We call them palmetto bugs in Florida

This has to be a misprinted price right? They had to have meant 7,900. You can buy a much more desirable long hood 911 in better condition for less. Or you could buy a 964 & an SC for less.

I did this! I had no interest in buying any more cars, but in the back of my mind I’ve always wanted a 190E Cosworth. A guy I follow on Instagram put his up for sale and I bought it immediately.

this should have been a Tavarish article:

It’s really too bad the demon isn’t coming as AWD. Would be fun to see what it could do with 335 drag radials putting down the power on all 4 corners.

Define “street tire” because the 335 section Nitto drag radials on the dodge demon are a street tire. And infinitely more capable than the stock tires on the Corvette. Or the P100D for that matter....I want a P100D owner to fit a set of those for a 0-60 run...

New to him. Any work needed would be covered by a warranty, and nobody with money for a new Lexus is going to an independent shop and making biweekly payments.

It’s very easy to make money building a 911. You can pick up a late 70's to mid 80's in workable condition for ~20k then put 10k into body work and paint, and 5k into the engine & a couple grand into the interior.(all prices are assuming you pay someone else to do the work for you). You end up with 35-40k in a car you

The wheels are all wrong. The first gen 16" CLK wheels are a nice upgrade that saves weight and still look reasonably classic on older Mercedes. (They are also great wheels for mounting slicks your C63 or E55.)

Here is the deal, Dodge is completely right, the Durango is the most powerful American 3 row SUV! no one thinks of the GLS as American because it’s a Mercedes. It doesn’t matter where it’s made, it could be built in Detroit and they could run a super bowl add claiming it’s imported from Detroit, the facts are it is a

A friend of mine has one, not sure what he paid for it, but he daily drives it. He just went in for his first oil change and 3rd set of rear tires.

Well notice I put weak in quotes. I know it’s an objectively great engine, but my point is that they started with an base corvette with an automatic trans, when they could have used a zo6 or zr1 and made a MUCH more interesting car.

I have mixed feelings about this one, it looks like a car that should be worth 125k. But at the same time it has a “weak” engine backed up by an slushbox. Factor that with the fact you can get a whole lot of cars such as a V10 Gated 6-spd R8 for less money and it makes it tough to justify the money....

“But even after all that seat time, the driving dynamic of a rear-engine car still never really clicked with me”

Counter point: you can track the shit out of a GT3 RS for the next 10 years and sell it for about what you paid for it(if not more). Where as a 10 year old turbo gets kicked in the nuts by depreciation.

God intended Top Gear to be 3 hosts with great chemistry. As much as I like Sabine she wasn’t right for this show. Neither was Eddie. Chris Evans is offensive to look at, and it only got worse every time he opened his mouth. Matt, Chris Harris, and Rory are the right trio for the job.

I wouldn’t hesitate to give $500 for this thing. But unless there is $3,000 worth of gold hidden in it somewhere, its way overpriced.

I fail to see how someone building a resto-mod in their garage could match the legendary British build quality & reliability!

I see 5 things about this car that make it an instantaneous CP at any price over $2,000:
