Fair enough. I'm only now starting to really get to know her work post-Super Mario RPG myself, so there's a lot of truth to what you say.

It's so good. I played for the first time on 3DS VC and it took me 12 hours spread over 10 months or so. It's a meaty, challenging game, and those later levels get really tough. The final boss is pretty tough too. I had to use save states to get over that one.
"(Yoko Shinomura's) amazing Super Mario RPG soundtrack in particular proved she was much more than just the musician behind Street Fighter II…"
As one of those who prefer the music in DKC and (especially) in DKC 2 I must admit that that theme is one of DKC 3's best.
Not many people know Mole Mania, a terrific action-puzzle for the Game Boy, and one of Shigeru Miyamoto's few portable games as producer, and the game didn't come out in America until 1997, but the chiptune soundtrack deserves more recognition. As does the game as a whole.
I don't like the music to Mario Kart 64 as much as some other people do (especially when compared with Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart DS or the gorgeous Mario Kart 8 soundtrack) but I must admit that the Super Smash Bros. Brawl remix of MK64's Luigi Circuit is aces.
Damn, now you beat me to pick one from Kirby Super Star (and Ultra)! My lead has vanished into thin air!
Oh, hello Mike. Much obliged. Nice to see a fella around these parts.
Ha! My winning streak of one (1) continues! Domination is soon to come!
I never played Super Mario RPG much, but I still loved the Forest Maze song anyway. I suspect I'm not the first nor the last.
Came here to say exactly the same thing, though I associate the music more with Jolly Roger Bay than with Dire, Dire, Docks.
"While there’s a ton of imagination and diversity within each of them, the 3-D platformers that followed—Banjo-Kazooie, Spyro The Dragon, Donkey Kong 64—were very much in the same format and style of level design."
What about Leia?
Hey, that was pretty funny.
Superbad was on the list.
Good call on A Serious Man, still needs more Pineapple Express.
- Pineapple Express (2008)
Needs more Pineapple Express.
I think somebody beat me to guess Allen and Johansson, so I didn't comment last time, but I can't quite remember. I hope so, since it looks pretty obvious in retrospect.
