OMG. One of the most under-rated hot hatches from back in the Super Street era. Just the fact it isn’t rusted to hell and has clearly been cleaned up for the posting warrants a NP from me.

Having done the crossing over the rockies I wholeheartedly wish you luck! Without forced induction you're going to have so much less horsepower!

True. I mean you could start that thing in second nearly on an incline. And it was fun to wring the car out, but in this case you literally only get to second or maybe third in that long gearbox before you have to slam on the brakes. My buddy gave gas to it when he picked me up from the airport and got into fourth on

Yeah. True. The control you get in a manual is great for cutting through traffic. I guess I’m just saying in this class I don’t think you need to completely write off a car just cause it lacks a manual.

To each their own. But having driven a Chevy SS I understand why so many people would opt for the automatic.

I only drive manual cars and I (mostly) agree. But I think heavy traffic is a reality for many drivers. Keep in mind I also drove this car in San Francisco. But my point is more in the vein of that in high torque, high weight cars where’s the benefit?

I have to kind of disagree. If they had thrown chunkier wheels on it would have super strong baby GLK vibes.

It makes perfect sense as they move up market though. This is a shot across the bow for all the german marques’ SUVs in the same way the elevated Mazda 3 is a threat to all the tiny premium options ala the upcoming 1 series and small Merc. Too much money? Maybe. But as a marketing and engineering ploy it will be worth

In a car like this a manual is kind of... antithetical to the dual purpose role. Having driven a Chevy SS manual, it was a hoot but I can’t imagine the driving experience being super hurt by a good automatic since it has so much torque to play with but I feel that in terms of usability an automatic would eat the

I totally understand this move, but really would have liked to see the car sized down a bit more. The latest CTS generation was a massive car!

Like all Subarus these hold their value remarkably well. The price isn’t super far off where it will likely end up for a car of this vintage with those miles (I’d say closer to 9,000 or 8,500) but that doesn’t mean it’s actually worth those prices. There are so many other capable vehicles you can get in this range so

How is this a real ad????

It's an entry level car aimed at a younger audience. I think it needs that bling and futuristic look to get people's attention.

Am I the only one who just read the whole thing as “Stability control is non-defeatable on new Mazda 3"?

The problem with adding awd is not you’ve got more weight and you’d probably want some more torque and... Now you’ve got a flabby car that’s tiny on the inside.

It’s not bad, per se, but you also have to look at it in the context of BMW losing one of its most affordable models that also managed to be it’s most sporty and the one that most adhered to “old bmw” ideals like a great, rwd driving experience. Even if the coupe is retained as RWD I still think this as a miss

Does it rotate on power or pull through a turn like a front wheel drive car when power is applied? Also are traction control and stability control fully defeatable?

It's a video game. There is no true "investment." if you want an investment go pick up a hobby. If you want to have fun with friends then play a game.

lol. And you’d have some peat moss.

The second row folded in a 2+2 coupe is transformational. It allows you to carry all sorts of things with the back seats folded. Like a set of track wheels and tires! >:)
