I just have a hard time with that weight. I have a 128i that got flak for being porky back in the day, but as near as I can tell it’s over 600 pounds lighter than this thing. Uhhhh. Whaaaaaat?

I know the power definitely makes up for it in a straight line but that amount of weight in a small 2+2 is just sad.

Yeah. In fact, many people body-life their sidekicks and spinoff variants.

Pretty sure the Sidekick and Tracker (the Samurai follow-up and what this is based on) are body on frame with a ladder frame.

$30K to get the manual hatch with a turbo seems like a high price to pay. I’d take a Veloster N instead, or an Elantra N... or wow... a Kia Stinger maybe instead of this. There are so many options when you get into the $30s. I’m really surprised at their pricing model here.

Boo hoo! Such a short bed. Whatever. They’re offering a holy grail of usable, everyday driveable truck at a price where people can say “but it’s not a real truck” all day long and no one will care because it’s priced like a Corolla.

Currently own this lovely Geo Tracker with 80 hp. It’s only 2WD and has a three speed auto but everywhere is a slow, enjoyable cruise (Except the highway! lol). Miss my first gen Miata that had a little bit more horsepower.

The one with the lowest horsepower by far would be the 60HP super beetle that was definitely no

Point well made. It will really depend on the market for sure. But it’s also a totally different market now so it will be interesting to see if it sells. It’s not quite a niche, enthusiast machine so perhaps it will actually do well, lol.

The only thing I would add to this is that there’s a market for this exact vehicle. When Subaru Bajas with 150,000 miles are still pulling $7 to $10k you know there’s a market for people who need/want a bed on an otherwise easy to live with vehicle.

The prices of these are really coming down - making them a viable alternative to a regular bike. Still not sure I see the need for this vs. a regular bike though. Was your rationale for getting this over a regular commuter bike?

Something like this would make me, and probably a lot of other people, more comfortable with buying a used performance car. Knowing that the break-in period had to be adhered to gives a little bit more assurance as to the longevity of the engine.

Damn. You kind of sold me on this. These have definitely been adopted by the bagger folks from what I’ve seen, but knowing they have actual chops makes them interesting again. Now I’m curious what the resale on one of these might be a few years down the line.

Mustangs and Camaros (and really all muscle cars). I just would rather have a high-strung four cylinder than a big V8 in a vehicle that doesn’t handle well and weighs too much. Admittedly I haven’t driven the current crop of forced-induction models although they actually appeal to me.

Wow. Nothing from Duncan Imports... am I in an alternate universe?

Would have to go with a 1983 Toyota Celica Supra. Definitely not the highest performer of the time, but an interesting transition to the Supra and the birth of a legend. It doesn’t hurt that these are actually on my list of 80's classics I troll listings for.

That missing center section would be a wonderful place to slap a hood scoop!

Let me fix that for you.... “Nearly 15-year-old Spykers, like this C8 Double 12, still look better ON THE INSIDE than a lot of brand new supercars. This is objective fact.”

I know these have always been big trucks... But I'm just blown away at how small 20 inch rims look! Does this vehicle really need to be that big? I've been in plenty of older suburban and they always seemed to have enough space.
