Splinter had garbage traffic and was pretty much known as just another white liberal blog that was gentrified away from PoC. The Root has a much better online presence and a smaller staff. In other words, The Root has a brand that’s worth having.

The original version of The President’s Neck Is Missing starring Troy McClure isn’t perfect but it has a special place in a lot of people’s hearts and it doesn’t need a remake.
