I disagree. That Miata with 100% of engine torque available at zero RPM would be a riot. Without engine vibration the tire feedback becomes much much better. This is a thing with electric motorcycles and it’s what makes them so quick around a track. Plus I bet the weight bias moves towards the rear of the car.

Yeah, I grew up broke as shit. Like so broke that even with food stamps and food pantries, I would regularly have to skip meals. A lot of work on my part and a lot of luck I can now walk into a Porsche dealership and buy anything new they have on offer and not have to change my lifestyle.

Zero drill drop in conversion with only a moderate increase in weight? That is seriously impressive.

The length of the loan is forever, because the customer is going to do the same thing again long before it’s paid off.

They get high-paying jobs through anything but hard work or skill and therefore don’t have the brains or appreciation for money and waste it like toilet paper.

The guy is trying to buy a ~$90k car while being $29k underwater and only has $7500 to put down. Assuming a 6.5% car tax (this is a guess) and a 10% interest rate (no way this guy is in single digits), you hit that $2500 with 60 months of payments.

I have no idea how people can be so bad with money.

The only judging he is doing is the monthly amount.  If you gave him a $2500/month payment for 30 years to get a Bentley you know what he would be rolling out of the dealership with.

My first thought was to use the kit with a (relatively) cheap to acquire automatic NA. Maybe bonus points if you know someone who needs a 1.8l to swap into their tired 1.6l car. Buy a clean automatic, sell off the engine, give the car new life with an EV conversion.

Supposedly, they work quite well in applications where they’re not having to deal with varying engine speeds and loads.

History apparently includes many such unintentional monsters. Fritz Haber invented the process that gave us nitrate fertilizer, which can be argued has saved probably hundreds of millions of lives in regards to increasing food production and warding off starvation.

Its 3.5x the escrow for my house.

I can’t imagine how you could not determine that a vehicle didn’t fit you on an extended test drive. Unless you didn’t bother to do one. Which would make you an idiot.

If you were in the business, you know just as well as I do that a 121% LTV higher than a giraffe’s ass, but they’ll absolutely get it done.

That’s about $1000 more than my mortgage....  (And my car payments are currently $0.)  I can’t even imagine that level of financial irresponsibility.

It’s fascinating Voyager 1 & 2 are still operating and how far they have travelled.  I remember learning about them in elementary/middle school in the 80s.

Sad that these things will one day stop transmitting. They’ve been around nearly as long as I have and I always enjoy reading about updates about them.

Battlebots (as member of a crew, 2 seasons), and their smaller brethren (my own team/bots) through a half-dozen or so competitions.

Logged in for the first time in a year solely to give you a star. Well said.

Motorcycle haters? How do I put this eloquently? Oh! Got it:
