I don’t think boutique manufacturers are giving up so much as focusing on a specific market. There is a subset of enthusiast that doesn’t really care about absurdly fast automobiles. Instead, they want really fast really engaging automobiles (the GMA T.50 and T.33 were sold out before Gordon Murray could get the first

Yea its pretty great that they’re realizing that outright track time and objective performance does not equate to fun. But a miata this is not. You find me a mid engine miata with a V12 that revs to 11k rpm.

Always fun to see them own themselves for our entertainment

He crashed into concrete at highway speeds, we can’t even be sure he survived the impact. Or he could’ve died of a heart attack before he crashed, hence the crash. All we have is speculation.

That thing is monstrous, useless, expensive, and impossible to store. It’s also an absolutely gorgeous piece of art deco styling.  If I had billions of dollars, I would want it.

Yeah, or falling asleep at the wheel. I assume they’re looking into the fire.

An actual cool story, bro.

Hopefully, the investigation from NHTSA and local authorities sheds some light on how and why this awful crash happened.

My band played on the other Peter Pan Futureliner at a car show a bunch of years ago (can’t miss that one, it’s green). I will tell you from experience, it’s not an ideal stage in any possible way.

I suspect the lack of actual door handles, mechanical linkages  /cables. As well as bullet proof glass, may have prevented them from getting out in time.

Some band should buy this to throw guerilla style public concerts.

These used to be for sale at a kiosk like thing in a mall in Portland.  (Right near the 85C bakery).

Is the battery big enough to get the used EV rebate? If so, that’s another $3,500 off the price tag.

It’s 16 miles of range, which is plenty for my needs. I bet at least 60 percent of my driving will be electric. I used to have a Nissan Leaf with 40 miles of range, and that did everything I needed a daily to do.

TBF, 10 mile EV range gets me to work and back.

I accidentally did the Akira slide on my bicycle one time as a kid riding down the sidewalk pretty quickly, two workers were on either side coming up, they were squatting down, one on the lawn to my left and the other on the little lawn between the sidewalk and the street. They saw me coming and a couple seconds

So it wasn’t just me? Got redirected to the Root and everything? This site is a mess.

Yall are looking at this all wrong. This is a donor car to use the suspension, engine, and drive train to make either a kit car or full on custom.

Looks like the seller bought this from copart and realized they were in over their head. Even $12k is too much considering how expensive parts for these are now - the math ain’t mathin here and you’re still better off buying a complete driver-quality one in the low 30s.
