Always read the source story:

Don’t they have other things in Nebraska like sports, books, cars, girls, and such for teenagers to be interested in?

Back in the day, it was straight up sociopathy/psychopathy to do really destructive things

Can we change this to the more needed “Which freeway do you wish was a high-speed rail line?” Because we don’t need to replace every car 1:1 with an electric, we need to make it so we don’t have to use cars for everything.

Counterpoint: the kid lived in Nebraska. He was probably suffering from near terminal boredom. It drove him to doing this. At least he did take his dad’s AR-15 and shoot up a school.

Not just today’s yutes, really. A kid a couple of towns over from me did this in the 80s, and it wasn’t for the clicks. He just liked causing catastrophes. Until he got caught. I didn’t know him personally, but I remember from the news that he got himself checked into a mental hospital briefly to try to avoid prison.

Pennies?? Look at Richie Rich over here! Back in MY day we were happy with squished SLUGS!!*

This. It doesn’t matter whether there’s a disclaimer that states this whole thing was the owner’s fault. It’s in any case kind of concerning the car can’t “see” an object headed straight for the rear window.  If they are going to stick with just cameras, maybe the rear camera needs to be mounted on the roof line like

A less fancy Rivian.

The Mazda RX-8. Specifically my RX-8. I’d love to have a setup similar to that one those Mississippi students did with that BRZ where it had a snowmobile engine up front as a range extender, but I’d want that to be a rotary.

So a 2-door Rivian.

Stuff like this teen derailing a train and another teen starting the Eagle Creek Fire by shooting of a Roman Candle during a burn ban is why proposals to lower the voting age to 16 are insane. I question why the minimum driving age isn't raised to 18, should we trust people who do this with a Tesla Model S Plaid?

Big rigs, mail trucks, UPS/Amazon vans, and...

Or it just teaches him to wrong better.  Because the way to fix a psychopath is to surround him with other psychopaths?

Let’s suppose the accusation is true—causing a crash just for clicks. That would mean that the “genius” teenager has no concept of right and wrong. So they throw his ass in jail for a few years, then maybe right versus wrong will sink in.

Just like so-called full self drive an autopilot (still don’t know what the difference between those same-sounding names is) they are totally automated, except the driver has to be able to control any any time, rendering it useless.

Yeah this tech is definitely ready to take over for drivers completely!

Has a car manufacturer ever faked a video showing a car operating on cruise control could easily navigate icy conditions at high speed?

I mean, this is in the same bucket as using cruise control at 70 in icy conditions then being mad that you spun out. “But the car has traction control, stability control, and cruise control!”....Theyre there to help, they dont make you invincible and you still need to use judgement on the situation around you.
