These CAFE racers with the looks but not the powertrain of the big-boy-toy trim were pretty popular, and the first owner or two of this car probably felt pretty good about the choice as oil prices went into an era of wild fluctuations.

I will be curious to hear what happens to the left over stock. Fisker took over an old BMW Dealership near my house (that used to be a circuit city for those wanting a chuckle from the past). Last month they had about 20-30 cars on the lot. I drove by a few days ago and there are only like 4 visible from the freeway -

“That tumorous body”—what a great term. Now that you wrote it, I can’t unsee it. Well played.

Counterpoint: the automatic V6 isn’t “fun to drive” in any universe. It’s a ~3500lb brick.

In this truck’s defense, lots of things might appear shorter than advertised, but the key is knowing where to measure from. I’d think many Cybertruck owners know what I’m getting at.

So...also like the BMW X6!

Captain Planet would be locked up today for protesting and hurting “lawful” business ventures.

As their customer was planning not to attend the trial which meant that Progressive wouldn’t have to cover my injuries at all.

These cars are dramatically overengineered in the coolest ways possible. The body is aluminum and has fender cutouts like you see in the current porsche RS cars, the engine was magnesium for weight savings, the coefficient of drag would put some modern EVs to shame, and you could get it with a manual. There are more

According to the article, you don’t have to worry about that. Your guess is as good as mine whether this is fully true, and they can of course change at any time (with a long “revised terms of service” text that we’ll all accept).

That gets you, like, 35 miles to the next E85 station.

I’ll be thinking about that at my next 20$ E-85 fill up

Not sure what people expected. At this point, I fully expect every app that requires way more information than what the app provides (like most free apps) and map apps (especially google maps) to be selling all of the information to anyone with money to pay for it...

You just gave me a good chuckle!

“It doesn’t have the equivalent of a Citroen 2CV to drag around.” Dude, extremely well put.

Wonder if any percent of the damaged chargers are vandalized by coal-rolling assholes and not tweaker copper thieves.

Re: power and perception of power, I think it’s easy to forget how much heavier cars are now, even compared with 1998.  Some not-very-thorough Googling suggests this 98 is probably somewhere in the range of 800 to 1000 lbs lighter than a current Challenger, so that “meager” 225 hp goes a lot further because it doesn’t

Both can be easily added at your convenience (I added the roll bar to my 89 GT convertible in an hour), and in fact, you can go with a 6 speed on these instead of the stock 5 speed if you choose to do the swap.

Have the same car, but a 96 triple black. 39.5k miles, all original. It’s weird, cause it doesn’t seem like 225HP is much, but I guess maybe with the gearing that’s in it, when I merge from a dead stop onto the freeway a few miles from my house, it not only will spin the tires if you stomp it, it will pull hard

I have been the victim of thieves that will cause a lot of destruction for a relatively tiny financial gain. In my experience, they were desperate drug addicts that threw their lives away just for a few bucks for the next fix.
