I should’ve elaborated. People had been driving into the area, shooting at each other, then driving away. The neighborhood asked the city to install traffic-calming measures such as orange barrels in the area. This made it harder for the shooters to escape quickly, so they stopped coming there.

I know that’s hyperbole, but I agree in spirit. Especially after hearing a discussion with folks who brought an end to shootings in their neighborhood by installing orange barrels. People quit starting shit there because they couldn’t flee anymore.
