Agreed that the driver is at fault here for not paying attention when the system failed to work properly. But I’m posing a larger question here.

Imagine if this collision happened with a bus or other vehicle with people in it vs. a trailer with cargo, etc. Can’t imagine the legal implications for Tesla is others aside from the Tesla driver had been hurt or killed.

To be fair, I can see why some people do this (in the hopes of being more visible to others). But why the hell can't US cars require rear fog lights for this exact purpose? I hate our lighting regulations....

That’s how my GTI works.

VW has a pretty clever solution for this. There’s an ambient light sensor in the gauge cluster that monitors the approximate light outside. As it gets darker outside, so too does your interior gauge/switch lighting.

In Scandinavian countries, rear lights are included with front DRLs. In fact, my GTI has an option in coding for “Scandinavian DRLs” which enables the rears at all times.

For what it’s worth, the green light on Mac cameras is hardwired to the camera itself. There’s no way for the camera to receive power without that light also turning on.

I was watching on my phone in bed around 8:30, kind of half asleep. Then I heard “I have no power, I have no power”. I’ve never sprung out of bed so quickly in my life to finish watching on the big screen.

The A4 is not a FWD-based vehicle, despite the base model being FWD. Engine is still longitudinally mounted and the platform is intended for AWD from the start.

Keep in mind that traffic slows to a crawl so tons of people can stare at a crash. But once they pass it, they all but forget that it even happened.

They did a “version” of The News on Extra Gear and while it wasn’t nearly as good as it used to be, it wasn’t terrible.

Fun fact: Tesla uses Mercedes switch gear, including the turn signal and gear shift stalks.

They couldn’t. Legally speaking, they had to choose a name that wasn’t even remotely similar to or referencing BBC’s show in any way.

But Americans “don’t like hatchbacks”.... [eyeroll]

What the new Civic should have been.

I wish I could have gotten the performance pack. I got my car all the way back in June of 2014 and PP models were still months away. Love my Autobahn DSG though. Going on nearly 2 years and I still love it just as much as day 1.

Having driven my buddy’s Mk6 back to back with my Mk7, I can confirm the increase in torque is very noticeable (both DSG). The steering also jumped out at me as a huge improvement in the 7. Much faster - 2.1 turns lock to lock - and feels “tighter” in the 7. Granted, my car has Pilot Super Sports, but still.

Thanks! Yeah, I fell in love with CSG immediately. Its awesome how much it changes color based on ambient lighting. I have tons more photos here if you’re interested: https://www.flickr.com/photos/absniko…

Nearly two years into owning mine and still love it to death.

Yes! Love mine to pieces and can confirm it’s basically the perfect all-rounder.
