I hate to admit it, but all of the things stated for these guys also applies to the GTI community these days. All these kids go out and buy a GTI (or worse, a Golf R), throw stupid wheels on it, go “stage 2”, and proceed to go on for days about racing and drag times.

This pisses me off severely. And VW is under scrutiny for cars that get 45+ MPG.

I should have clarified by the way. I’m DSG so I don’t really have an opinion of the golf ball lol. New knob looks good too though, I’m sure it feels great.

Those sound like personal opinions to me. Neither bothers me at all. It’s a beautiful interior for the price.

Turns out GTIs are NOT affected.

Whoops - copy and paste mistake.

To be quite frank - if it comes down to me needing a new engine, I’m done with the car. I’ve already brought it in for numerous recalls and “technical service bulletins”. I fully expected that when I took delivery of literally one of the first Mk7s in the US, but this news is very disappointing.

=/ Official build date will be on a black placard at the bottom of the driver side door jam in case you didn't know btw.

According to the NHTSA docs, here are the GTI build dates affected: NOV 12, 2014 through SEP 29, 2015.

You bring up a good point. Everyone knows how hard it is to match the fuel ratings on the window sticker in the real world. Why don’t we look to the tests as well to see what’s being tested - and how accurate to real world use it is.

Still gets registered as a Lotus, so I doubt Bugatti really cares about this “Manufacturer’s” claims.

Truck was illegally changing lanes over a solid white line.

The US market is very quirky and illogical to be frank. VW openly admits they don’t “get” the US consumers/market. In Europe, VW is treated as a stepping stone into the Audi brand, with Seat and Skoda serving as the more entry level brands. VWoA is trying too hard to be too many things in my opinion. They’ll never

I’m willing to bet they won’t give us the Euro Passat for fear of cannibalizing Audi sales.

Also for pedestrian crash safety regulations in Europe I believe. They want the front of the car to be as “squishy” as possible to absorb energy if you hit a person. The BMW 3/4 series is guilty of this as well for the same reason.

Nope. Most will use the auto approach, but the last few hundred feet are almost always flown by hand.

That’s the 2 liter also. Nice car =/

They couldn’t come up with a more elegant or tasteful way to implement the LED heatsinks?

They just need to bring the entire EU Passat here. But Im willing to bet they’d never do that as it would likely eat into Audi sales. That thing is gorgeous though! And loaded with features and tech.
