Was the same in my Civic. Not a terrible implementation, but I often found myself accidentally engaging "permanent" beams when I only wanted a few quick flashes (in a panic/"what the hell are you doing, you moron?!" situation). Loved my bi-xenons (with proper cutoff and aiming) for that btw.

Somewhat related to your point, it always irks me when a car has a truck/SUV/van-style foot operated parking brake.

Or the filler release on a Gallardo Super Leggera while hunting for the best road in the world. (Has to be one of my favorite episodes by the way).

Or trunk release. Always accidentally pop the trunk instead of the fuel door in my mom's 09 Jetta whenever I take it for fuel.

Depends on the car. My dad's Audi has its battery under the rear seats. Trunk is a pretty good location though. Out of the elements and better shielded from heat.

And on top of that, finding the actual hood latch release is another scavenger hunt. I remember spending nearly 10 mins at Carmax trying to figure it out lol.

I spent several minutes trying to locate the fuel filler release on a rented Chrysler 300 last week. Eventually found it inside the driver's door map pocket. W.T.F? Rented another car last year (can't remember what model, just had to get the cheapest available per my company's travel restrictions at the time) where

Awesome for sure, but I bet you'd tire of all that noise pretty quickly.

Agreed - Its all in the details.

Saddle soap.

Surprised no one saw/commented on this from yesterday:

I'm sure they had tons of clearance and a very tight timeframe to do this.

Reminds of this thread I encountered of a Carrera GT undergoing its 4 year major service. Whole car gets disassembled essentially. Crazy stuff and tons of awesome pics: http://teamspeed.com/forums/gt/2746…

Be sure to browse through the pages - the good stuff starts on page 3.

Oh I've seen it before haha. Both the original and this parody (which is hilarious). She's still insanely pretty these days, but there was a certain charm to her back in her earlier days. Dem legs...

I've always considered her to be extremely attractive, but she looks extra fantastic in this video.

This is my exact go-to argument for the GTI every time. It may not be the lightest or the fastest or the cheapest, but it sure as hell is really good at a lot of different things.

New GTI with a manual is about 2900 lbs if I remember correctly.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion and can purchase what they like. I think some of your concerns might be addressed in the latest generation that's coming out soon - loads more torque, less weight, and a fantastic [optional] differential up front. I am genuinely curious to see some head to head match ups of the

The ST is fantastic - I don't doubt that for a second. But compared to the GTI, its definitely missing some refinement and maturity. The GTI is the ultimate "gentleman's hot hatch" if you ask me (and many others).

They could split the GT moniker into two simple "sub trims". GT4 and GT8.
