International calls work a bit differently. The ringing means your call is being routed/transferred. Doesn't mean the phone on the other end is ringing. The routing can take a few moments, but the ringing is used to "disguise" the behind-the-scenes delays.

Its a little more square and vertical than the current model. I see more R8 similarity than current TT.

The first one was an absolute classic, no doubt. But this new one is equally nice in my opinion. Its a very crisp and clean design in line with Audi's other models. Very interested in seeing official photos and eventually seeing it in person.
