Yeah, I don’t know if R6 keeps a local chat log, and if it does, I’d probably check it. To be fair, it’s been a long time since I’ve played Siege, so I don’t know if the culture shifted at all. I doubt it.

Boy, I feel ya there. I had a bit of an epiphany recently... Because my parents made it clear that everything I did was wrong, and that I was a terrible son (of course, it was the other way around), my worldview is filtered through the lense of “oh god, I’m the fucking worst. What did I do wrong? Why would anyone ever

You’re not weak for being perpetually traumatized by people for merely existing. Knowing when something is not worth the grief is simply wisdom.

Well... that’s a response... I guess...

ok, but that just creates a culture where they can’t be critiqued on individual practices because they’ve got goodwill banked, like some kind of karma score; and because other publishers are worse. You’re letting them coast on their image.

Right, but i’m also hard pressed to say anything nice about Activision, Blizzard, Ubisoft... and Nintendo, these days. That’s the point. Valve as an org often times reflects the better aspects of the gaming industry, where the others represent the worst, and contributed heavily to the homogenization of gaming.

Valve also is one of the only launcher client that promotes mods, they do not freak out and send cease and desists every time a passionate fan steps up to pay homage to valve’s work, they routinely hire or financially back talented modders, they are quick to loan their IPs to other publishers, and they still maintain

I was just thinking today that the OG Unreal could use a remake.

Good to know! Thanks for the tip. That’s not terribly surprising, but it’s something I’ll keep in mind for the future. Like I said, the challenge for me is that I only use gamepads intermittently, and as you may imagine, it’s frustrating to pick up a gamepad to find it already dead.

In my estimation, the ps5 controller does even worse.

Ha! I actually don’t have a xsx or a ps5, as I mostly game on pc. And I was getting sick of Xbox controllers for drawing power when not in use, and decided to try out the duel sense.

This. The challenge with Apex was always that the gunplay was a lot more involved than a lot of shooters (due in large part to a longer-than-average TTK)... except shooting was the thing you generally did the least in this game. I’ve been meaning to try out the 3v3 pvp for a while, but life is like that :p

For sure, for sure. Still, it’s pretty cringe that we hadn’t seen much coverage like this until now. And that the Kotaku staff managed to do so without name-checking Phi Phi O’Hara, who’s been killing it in the cosplay sector for years.

Lol. During the last season of “Legendary”, they had a nerd themed (anime, videogames, etc) ballroom, and it was just... hilarious. Because the only judge on the panel who was in ANY WAY familiar with nerd culture was freaking Bob the Drag Queen who was guest judging.

Ha! Oh gosh, Drag and Cosplay go together like peanut butter and chocolate!? Next on Kotaku: the PS2 is going to come with a DVD player!!!!

Forgive me, but I don’t really feel like making a thing out of some low-level ribbing over kotaku’s inability to find more than three topics to keep harping on about.

Oh noes, someone got their fee-fees hurt over some light snark, they had to go make an internet about it!

counter-point: I could also google “last of us tv show” if I wanted an endless feed of last of us tv show coverage.

WE NEED FIFTY MORE ARTICLES ON SOME VG TV ADAPTATION, STAT!!!!

God, I hope they don’t try to serious this up. I’m part of a tiny majority of folk who doesn’t think that RE4 really stood the test of time (though, it was obviously super influential. No one could say otherwise), but the part that I think held up was the “OMG (post 9/11 america), EUROPEANS ARE ALL A BUNCH OF ZOMBIE
