I will bet you that most folks know a LOT more about Musk than you do about any other automotive CEO. I’ll wager that ther are plent of those guys who are bigger A*holes than Musk. I’m pretty sure Ford II was, and yet he sold s*it-tons of Mustangs, Galaxys, and Fairlanes.

The public doesn’t care who’s behind the top

I’m glad you brought that up because the adoption pains we’re seeing with EVs are really close to the smae pains drivers had with cars in general in the first place.

We had cars, but no roads (ever wonder why early cars had such high ground clearance? We didn’t have roads so much as we had rivers of mud when it rained.

One thing about EVs that is almost always ignored.

They are fuel AGNOSTIC.

I’m talking about the fuel that provides the power to operate the vehicle.

In an ICE-equipped car, it’s gasoline, or Diesel, or ethanol, or LNG, ot hydrogen, or whatever explody thing you can pour or pump into a tank..

In an EV, or more accurately,

Packages and option availability have a lot more to do with the manufacturing process than it does with the dealerships.  I don’t see that changing any time soon.

The dealer system is a throwback to the 1920's and the reasons for it died long ago. It’s time for that tired old business model to be put out to pasture with the buggy whip and the steam locomotive.

And F1 slips a little bit more into irrelevance.

A more detailed answer would require an epidemiologist.

When you purposefully ignore scientific facts for *any* reason -- political, religious, or other -- you are anti-science.

I enjoy Clarkson’s comedy, but as a person, he’s a bit pathetic.

I believe GM was busy making a mid-engined supercar for less than $60k.

For what its worth, eMMC’s are not unique to Teslas, or even EVs. Millions of devices contain them — tablets, phones, infotainment systems, lots of stuff. And they can fail in any of these devices.

I don’t mind this on the web site, but keep this shit off social media, you idiots.

Impossible to infer anything from that without knowing what their goals and test strategies are. Testing by a manufacturer at this level is almost never “let’s make it go as fast as we can every session.”

No way to tell, but regen breaking doesn’t buy you much at all on the track.

Sure have.

On my regular commute, I ended up behind a car that was driving slowly, havin difficulty maintaining a constant speed, and having trouble staying in their lane. If it wern’t for the time of day (about 8:00 AM,) I’d have sworn they were very, very drunk.

I reported it to 911 and the operator called in a couple

The only answer is a BMW E61 (Touring) M5. With that legendary V10 engine, how could you go wrong?

A couple of things...

First, how can you consider one car that costs TWICE AS MUCH to be a competitor to another?

Second, Nico? Nope — Elon would be much better off getting Sabine to so the driving.  And put a camer on her with a good mic.  She actually has FUN behind the wheel.

Sisyphus wasn’t afraid of work, either.

Its a common tactic taken by authoritarian organizations.
