Dawn of the Dead has a phenomenal opening sequence but kind of falls apart by the end. Hopefully this one is a bit more consistent throughout.

If Jacqueline was going to end up with yet another handsome rich dude than what was the point of her breaking up with Handsome Russ? Quinto is always welcome but this whole plot felt pointless and truncated.
I've actually seen Cats and couldn't name a song other than "Memory" so the idea that it's made up on the spot with whoever works their way onstage seems weirdly plausible.
Watched the final episodes of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. I was up and down on the show at times, which had a bunch of actors I liked and could always be depended upon for big laughs but had a weird habit of suddenly dropping stories or wrapping them up in unsatisfying ways. There are a lot of good jokes in these final…
I can actually see the screenwriter of Rocky and First Blood having a certain affinity with the sad, strange, short life of Poe. As long as he continues to realize casting himself would be insane, why not?
I have no idea if this was intentional but in Paradise Lost after humanity has fallen the archangel Michael shows Adam visions of the future history of the world and hints at humanity’s eventual redemption. There’s a nice sort of parallel with Michael showing Eleanor her own alternate pasts with Chidi and ending with…
Pitt has a bit of a Redford in Downhill Racer look going on here with the hair and the glasses.
I was thinking about this yesterday while happily singing along to Stevie Wonder’s “I Just Called to Say I Love You.” I think the synthesizer and that “cha-cha-cha” at the end of the song have made it emblematic of cheesy 80s adult contemporary despite it being a massive, Oscar-winning hit. But I make no apologies…
I started listening to The Good Place podcast largely because I just dig that man’s voice. He’s also a surprisingly good interviewer.
Can I admit that Jason’s ridiculous pizza scene made me cry and the romance montage didn’t? You got how much that idiot values Chidi’s friendship.
I love this show. This episode was a reminder of how great Bell is at switching between funny and sincerely emotional in the same scene. But I’m having some problems with the Chidi/Eleanor plot being this great romance/love story we’re supposed to be swept up in. We know that they frequently found each other in the…
Yeah, I thought about that Lily plot from HIMYM, too. I think sometimes they go too far with Gina’s worst characteristics, maybe because Chelsea Peretti is so good at making her seem like a basically harmless oddball that they don’t always think through how it come across or what she’s actually doing.
You’re not wrong. I just didn’t think it was funny here.
The Sophie’s Choice joke seemed unusually dark for this show (I mean, she’s deciding which of her children gets murdered in a concentration camp). Besides that, I thought the Boyle/Rosa plot worked best here. I like when the two of them are just mismatched buddies. The Jake/Gina plot had that sweet ending but other…
I mean, it’s not like he was a music teacher or coach for several seasons and would know dozens of candidates for that panel.
Yep, this sucked. Cam turning on a dime and being cruel to different sets of his younger relatives could have been funny but everything about that scene was off. Who gives a crap about Mitchell’s job? Didn’t Gloria just have a salsa business? What happened to that? Going back to the “confusing a recording with…
The man is obviously super handsome but I don’t find him interesting at all. Maybe that's just me.
Cool. Hardware is an underrated splatterpunk movie.
I hated Amaro. He was so blatantly an attempt to copy Stabler's volatility but without any of the original actor's charisma.
I feel a little bad because I think the actors are talented but, yeah, Rollins and Carisi have the worst dynamic.
