“Old people sure like NCIS” jokes aren’t exactly fresh but I thought the recipe card plot mostly worked. It’s no “Mother Simpson” but it was fine.

We don’t talk about “The Way to Eden,” which may not be worse than “Spock’s Brain” but somehow annoys me more than “Spock’s Brain.” Damn space hippies.

I once watched a production of Pirates of Penzance in which the woman all dressed like anime characters, the pirates carried water pistols, and the police wore t-shirts for The Beatles. So very, very bad.

Rewatching Happy Endings on Hulu. Such a great show, gone too soon. The whole cast is terrific. Eliza Coupe should be a gigantic star. Damon Wayans Jr. would kill in the right romantic comedy. Adam Pally and Casey Wilson are funny folks who found really good fits with these characters. Elisha Cuthbert is great as a

I love Tremors but the franchise is pretty much the definition of diminishing returns.

That song is so catchy. I like the running gag of it constantly showing back up.

I believe two episodes of Discovery’s first season were directed by women. Obviously there is a lot of room for improvement.

I think there are two pretty good moments in the movie - one where Richardson just rips into Irons after all of the fallout has happened and an earlier one where Graves tries to reach out to his father. The stuff with Binoche is just soft core nonsense and a waste of a great actress.

“Lolly, Lolly, Lolly Get Your Adverbs Here” plays in my head about once a month. There’s a really nice countdown of all his Schoolhouse Rock songs over at Vulture.

It has to be one of the craziest character trajectories ever, from the standard issue horror movie boyfriend in the first to live action Looney Tunes character in the second to the increasingly bombastic (if skilled) jerk of Army of Darkness and the series. Ash only really survived the original Evil Dead because

He has a really brief cameo in the credits. He also produced it.

He’s going to be the villain for the next season of Daredevil. OK, that isn’t true, but I would love it to be true.

I don’t see Jessica cheering. More of a shrug of delight.

I enjoyed Jumanji a lot - apart from anything else, it reminded me how enjoyable Jack Black can be when he’s actually trying - but I’m not sure how you do a direct sequel with the same cast. Haven’t they all learned the lessons those specific avatars were meant to teach them?

So in the Jumanji universe, did Will and Grace still have that falling out which lasted several decades?

The second season horribly bungled the subject matter but at least I understood that they were trying to say something about race. The first season tried to deal with issues related to mental illness. What was this season even supposed to be about? They tried to sell it on female empowerment there at the end but that

I hated that “you made me a murderer” speech. Grow up, Jeremy. Rachel may be an awful person but she didn’t make you do anything. The shrink came pretty close to saying “you made me be obsessed with you,” too. You should both be in jail.

In the meantime they can make my movie where Shuri, Valkyrie, and Ned go on a road trip together to fight evil. Because I would watch that.

Such a great actress. Her performance as Camille Claudel from a few years back was incredible.

This was a really good RR. What an interesting person. I’m way behind on Jane the Virgin and this makes me want to catch up.
