No need to involve the courts. Congress has the power to arrest witnesses and bring them in to testify, and imprison them for contempt if they refuse. There is ample historical and Supreme Court precedent for it.

You’d think that the blatant rigging of elections, the refusal to comply with subpoenas, and the weaponization of the justice system to target the political opposition would result in at least a small protest. Trump is just banking on the hope that the Supreme Court will over rule the Nixon ruling and there is not an insignificant chance that this will be the outcome. 

The strategy for Trump is to keep this shit tied up in the courts through the election. He doesn’t give a shit about the constitutional effects of all of these shenanigans. Just keep it in court as long as possible.

For once I would just like someone to yell out that Bush/Cheney had personal servers and deleted more emails than Hillary ever had on hers!  Not to mention Trump & staff using personal servers but then as we have seen laws do not apply to Republicans.
