Naomi going over Alexa was baffling, unless it's that supposed wrestling biz thing where the last-minute replacement always wins so that the crowd doesn't feel ripped off. It really hurt Alexa though, and she didn't even get decent screen time on Talking Smack to bitch about it.
Ha, I just said the same thing, only 18 hours after you! I totally agree, although with Rowan out, would it still work with a Bray/Harper team?
They just need to book Harper (and Rowan, although I like Harper better) as bigger threats and not incompetent henchmen for the babyface to steamroll on their way to Bray.
I just… I was so keen to have Emma back on screen, but this rebranding is so weird. Like, what was the point of her going back to NXT to redefine her character only to drop it within a few months of her rejoining the main roster?
No mention of Emma in the review, but I wonder if there was any sign of her questionable new "Emmalina" gimmick tonight?
Guess I can't argue with that, but I would play any of those and many more before resorting to CAH. I just don't think it's particularly cromulent to suggest that CAH is good simply because it doesn't require a lot of time commitment.
I mean, okay, but there are a plethora of other, better games that can also fill that niche.
Oh nooooooooooooooooo…
Oh man, Nese vs Neville! I'll take all of that you've got!
The opening of All I Think About Now sounds like an inverted Where Is My Mind, like you get when a company can't license a song for an ad and so they create a copy with one or two notes just off enough to scrape by without a lawsuit.
I suppose the big problem is the struggle trying to balance WWE as a live event and as a serialised TV show. On the one hand you've got an arena full of people who've paid to see the big names in the ring (if I'd bought a ticket and only got to see Becky get laid out on the ramp I'd probably be annoyed, for example),…
I find Carmella's song stuck in my head on a way-too-regular basis.
Yeah, from watching NXT it becomes obvious how useful it is to not have every person on the roster in every show. Keeps them fresh and builds anticipation for when they do appear. IT SEEMS SO OBVIOUS.
I thought the "Big E spot" was going for a spear through the middle rope to the outside and almost killing yourself?
I think the implication is that Punk's "pipebomb" style of promo broke the mould, and that so many have tried to copy it since that it's become stale.
Carmella's DQ was dumb, and makes me think that WWE still doesn't want the women to use weapons, which is disappointing. A simple chairshot across the back would've made the whole thing make sense, because the character work is spot on.
I think Eva's current shtick is pretty entertaining and probably the very best that WWE can do with her at the moment. I also think it's probably the best they'll ever get out of her, given her complete lack of acting, speaking and wrestling ability.
I mean, but this is how you build up a credible division, isn't it? If AA just run roughshod over everyone to the titles, what then?
To say that Alpha were merely jobbing (I don't think you say someone was "being jobbed", do you?) to the Usos ignores that the match featured some pretty awesome character development for them and made them look like never-say-die heroes. Plus it makes the heel Usos look like legit threats to Slater and Rhyno.
