I read Megahex, which had me laughing out loud for long stretches, and then feeling kinda sad, which was actually pretty awesome. I think it's genius how this stoner, slapstick, mean-spirited humour comic flips the script and becomes quite heartbreaking and affecting over the course of just a few pages. The story where

I read vol 1 of Empowered a while back. I remember it being fun and funny (the trapped demon especially), but I've never felt compelled to get into vol 2.

You talking about Mike Carey's run as well? Because yeah, I dig it too.

I really need to check out some Spurrier, either this X-Force run or Legacy. I've been hearing such good things around here and I like a little weirdness in my superhero books.

I would love to see a Spider-women book, featuring a team of all the women who've ever been landed with a Spider-man knock-off gimmick: You've got three Spider-women (Jess Drew, Julia Carpenter [now the new Madame Web] and Mattie Franklin [dead, but hey, comics]) for a start, plus Arana, Spider-girl (May Parker from

Dini's run is also on my to-read list. From what I've heard it's generally more low key than Morrison's high-concept Bat-mythology, but I like the sound of things like the reformed Riddler and lots of Zatanna.

Yeah, I think I'm looking forward to those most of all. I've heard great things. Plus, Frank Quitely!

I started reading Grant Morrison's Batman run for the first time, starting with the Batman and Son TPB. So far I've read the first arc, with the introduction of Damian. He is a huge brat, which makes me quite excited because everyone on these boards seems to love the guy, so I'm expecting some great character work

Pretty sure he was younger in Hickman's run.

Yeah, it really looks like the pick of this week's Panel. I don't think I can bring myself to be interested in Lobo.

Hey Comics Panel, I wonder if you have plans to cover the excellent new book by Tim Molloy, Mr Unpronouncable and the Sect of the Bleeding Eye? It's the sequel to the surreal and completely hilarious Mr Unpronouncable Adventures, and features more insane, Lovecraftian ramblings from "homeless necromancer" Mr

The great thing about CK2 is that although you can delve into the harcore micromanagement of your empire, you don't really need to. The game almost plays itself to a certain degree, but it's still hell of fun, and you can pick up the technical stuff as you go along without worrying about fucking up (it's kind of more

Mind MGMT is very good! I always like to see how creators whose own work I've enjoyed fare in the Marvel/DC sandboxes. The results can be great (eg. Fraction's Hawkguy, Brubaker's Catwoman), but sometimes it just stifles their creativity. Sounds like Kindt's work is more of the latter.

So Matt Kindt. Can anyone recommend that Spider-man run mentioned in the article? The Amazon reviews at least are less than glowing. Also any fans of Frankenstein: Agent of S.H.A.D.E in the house?

What did you think of Stormwatch? I've mentioned before how it was a bit of a letdown for me, especially the stupid Aliens crossover that ended it.

"…BM slathered all over it."

Yeah, I've heard that too, but I've given up on ever seeing anything more from the series, to be honest. Seems to happen a lot with Warren Ellis books, computer crash-related problems or not.

I'm liking the new layout with more pictures. Sometimes it's not enough to just see the cover, especially with superhero stuff where the covers and internal art are often done by different people.

Yup. Oh Fell, how we miss you so. I think there'd be a market for those last unfinished issues if writer and/or artist were ever to go back to them.
