Your argument is nonsense. The games were not part of the service and now they have been made available without increasing the cost of the service. That is indeed adding value for free to the consumer.
Seconded. Mine lapsed for a bit and I still got to play them and I was offline for a few weeks as well and still had access to them.
That is absolutely the best part and also the reason I don't bother with PS+. I don't like the fact that all I get is a glorified rental of said games instead of keeping them.
