My friend took lessons with her as a kid, and she confirms Harding would do these impossible jumps without really having to practice. Her mother wore a fake fur coat that smelled like piss, and sometimes she was still drunk from the night before on the days she’d hang out and watch.
I really loved watching Tonya Harding and Surya Bonaly and Midori Ito skate because of the athleticism. They were so energetic and it seemed so passionate. Unrelated to that, once I met Tonya at my loca ice rink and she was incredibly sweet to my five year old self.
Semi-related disclosure: As a child I skated at the Lloyd Center ice rink in Portland with Tonya. Can confirm she is and has always been a complete C-word.

Me too. I’m probably too old if I’m honest (with myself) but it’s fun and kitschy and I need some frivolity in my life. I’ve never read comic books but loving this and all the DC shows, especially Supergirl which is just fantastic fun.
