Could she have prevented this? Possibly. Could her daughter have run away and disappeared to follow her dreams, leaving her with no contact at all? Probably. How do you know that the mother didn’t run and get her after that incident, and then Kesha went back after being convinced by a practiced abuser? She was older

Son of a bitch. I just...

Ah, right. Anger is the only acceptable outlet.

My one cat’s an asshole. The rest are perfect.

This shit is far too common. Perhaps he did have a rough background, or perhaps he just grew up in an environment that told him if he wanted a girl’s attention, he was entitled to it. Lots of people have abusive childhoods- the vast majority don’t murder people for turning them down. Look at comments elsewhere-

But remember, we women are the overly emotional, irrational ones.

I never realized anyone else mangled Reese’s cups like I do, let alone a Kardashian (although I eat the chocolate from the bottom first, then the top- it’s better for structural integrity). Also, my husband makes the same face Khloe does watching me eat one.

Wow. Good on you for quitting that bullshit. I hope karma catches up with them in a big way.

Boss calls me into his office and tells me I need to be more “considerate” of said coworker’s feelings.

Up until age 29, the hubs and I were proudly child-free with NO aspirations to parenthood. We loved it. Loved our free time and disposable income. Never wanted kids. Then, he mentioned something about getting a vasectomy and I internally freaked out (and was really surprised by how much it freaked me out). He said

FFS. Dude is grieving. He’s probably hanging on by his fingernails right now, and that’s keeping him going. He has a small child without a mother to raise her. It’s a shitty situation, and that belief is getting him through.

People all grieve in different ways and Joey seemed to be an active participant in their videos. I can’t blame the guy for wanting extra comfort from fans, or her to want to share her story. I’m pretty cynical myself, but the alarm bells aren’t going off here. Just some stunned people trying to deal with an insane

I don’t know...I feel like stuff like the Hawkeye Initiative and John Scalzi and co. trying to pose like female characters on sci-fi covers can go a long way to show how ridiculous these concepts are, and how much of a disparity there is between how men and women are portrayed in the media. It’s amazing how that stuff

I wonder if a show like that could get made today. A show focusing on older women having active social and love lives? Golden Girls is a freaking miracle.

I started watching when Sheridan was kept in a pit by crazy Beth and her mom, who were dressed like clowns. I loved that show. It was so freaking weird.

Eh, I’d feel sorry for him if he weren’t actively trying to make The Handmaid’s Tale a non-fiction book.

Malevolent sentient pudding.

Fair enough- didn’t know when that ad came out so was just throwing out a ball park figure. Still, that Surgeon General warning in the corner still stands...

But it was still cool to do! That has to count for something:D

Yeah, the boots are pretty sweet. Everything else...not so much.
