Unpopular opinion: GOOD. This last season was brutally boring. I fell asleep during the last episode, woke up a significant amount of time later and had missed nothing.
I don’t know why I never thought of clothes like this?? Like, I should not be pouring my body into a specific shape dictated by clothes, they should be accommodating to whatever shape my body actually is.
Well, Beyoncé is wearing her leotard-frong-whatevers over 2 pairs of tights when she performs (nude shiny and then nude fishnet over the top), plus I’m pretty sure that there are copious amounts of either double-sided tape or the wedgie glue that gymnasts use on everyone else
I highly recommend Sword and Scale for in-depth true crime podcasting. Lots of real 911 calls and the guy really does his research. I’ve also been immersed in My Favorite Murder as well. I dig their tone (two ladies coffee klatch-ing about murders? yes please) and they went into the JonBenet stuff in a couple of the…
“how to tackle body image issues head-on”
I was blown away. I would move to NY just to vote for him because of that doc.
“On the Right Track from Pippin is always a go-to for me, especially if I’m stressed. “Piqued as any Alp” never fails to raise my spirits.
This one’s always killed me, as a devoted Fosse fan.
disagree; koosh should be MUCH higher.
this is good kinja.
I would like to see Ted Cruz in that sequin blazer, plz
This is my beef with them. I get the look and the lifestyle they’re peddling, but every time I wander in (“maybe this time it’s different,” I say to myself.) I see racks and racks of poorly made poly-blend clothes for outrageous prices. Most of their damn dress are unlined. UNLINED. Even Forever 21 lines their…
Attracting bears. And on the accompanying uncontrollable hungry days, I call myself the Food Monster.
It’s such ridiculous bullshit. “The violation of the victims’ bodies and rights and safety are nothing compared to the violation of his dreeeeaaaaams!!” Fuck all of this. I am seething.
I think the writer got it all wrong, which makes sense, because what a giant bag of dicks. Holtzclaw didn’t rape women because he missed out on his NFL dream—his entire NFL dream was another symptom of his excessive, sociopathic sense of self. He was a no-name football player from a sub-par school who thought he…
Great point. It’s a very helpful film for establishing Jenny’s mindset and motivation; the grand, glittering, romantic adventure as contrasted with her dull and provincial everyday. I think the setting of it (early 1960's, right?) helps underline her personal tension as well. She wants a life different from what…
You deserve all the stars.
“I don’t want to assume that I know his plan, but I will tell you this,” he said, transitioning to speak from the perspective of God.
Oh, I’m so glad you mentioned that film! I found it a stupendous portrait of how that kind of young adult grooming can occur, and how other adults who should have known better also get wrapped up in the illusion. Her parents get swindled just as much as she does, and in the end they all have to pick up the pieces…
