We just calling anything these days “unhinged”?
I’ve been referring to it as Game of Thrones DLC. Same maps, just a different smaller story.
Right. The premise is what if Miles Morales was Thor. Apparently if this one character becomes this other character, Asgard becomes Brooklyn?
For real; calling him Odinson instead didn’t really fix the problem of his first name being Thor.
Project Necromancer is off to a solid start.
Fair, though also to be fair, the guy says at numerous turns that maybe every minute is needed, but also mentions that, more often than not, these longer runtimes aren’t justified by their content. I’ll also add that this is a blog and, let’s be real, not a legit news source; everything on here has a crazy biased…
Hell of a thoughtful comment here. Bet it took you all day to focus group this one.
You’re giving the guy a hard time for thinking that, just maybe, a 3 hour movie could be over-indulgent, and saying that maybe he doesn’t like movies as a result.
Ha, yeah, Batman, a character who’s been around since 1939, definitely needs character development and really needs 3 hours to do it. Like anyone living on the planet doesn’t know Batman’s deal.
Imagine living in 2022 and thinking you need to develop the character of Batman.
But I could watch 3 at a time at home while doing things around the house, get up, pause, etc. It’s not quite the same thing.
I don’t think this post is arguing against the idea of a 3 hour movie, but rather how often it seems to be the standard and also whether or not a Batman movie needs it. We can’t really tell that last one without seeing it, but with it being a reboot, it definitely lends itself to worries about flashback/origin stuff…
10 issues of a comic aren’t the same as one 200-page graphic novel.
That’s because it has DeNiro and Pacino in it. Literally a scene where they meet up to talk to each other. It also is not rehashing a 70 year old property for the umpteenth time.
Heat also had original characters that audiences had not met before. Do we really need to flesh out the relationship between Batman and Alfred? Or his contentious relationship to GCPD?
Yeah, you know all those books that they ask you to sit still in a dark room and read continuously.
Every “take” is subjective. How does someone have an objective take on a thing?
Imagine living in 2022 and thinking you need to develop Batman as a character.
Counterpoint: with this being a reboot, what percentage of this movie is likely to be a retread of origin stuff we’ve already seen?
