I have definitely been a hit and miss viewer lately. I need to catch up. 

It’s really surprisingly good. Not even “for a Chuck Lorre show,” but that statement still needs to be made. They tackle some powerful topics and do a reasonably good job of balancing humor and pathos. I have always found it entertaining the way Farris’ children just kind of stop being a plot point though. 

His father is on the council. He did this as a prank to make his father laugh and it went viral.

Yeah, I don’t see it happening. And as you noted, enough people failed to “get” Starship Troopers that it was often read as an endorsement of the jingoism it jabbed at. I don’t think we’re ready to try that at this point with this kind of topic. It’s maybe just too soon for the ironic treatment to be a viable option.

I’m reading these comments thinking “Dredd made in 2020 is a horrible idea, unless they give it to Verhoeven.” Now I’m thinking I really want to see what he’d do with the property. 

This “joke” from him is just fucking dumb. But if I picture Norm McDonald typing the same thing? It’s hilarious. 

It reads like the backstory of a Bond villain more than a guy trying to revitalize a people and an economy.

To be fair, the raw magnetism of Rhys Davies, particularly when clad in fringed leather, results in all living organisms within a three mile radius moving as though they are made of wood. Because brother let me tell you...when he tosses his hair like that they are.

MCU casting has been top notch, but he was a particularly excellent choice as Black Panther. The combination of intelligence, charm, calm, humor, and strength captured the character perfectly.

The strength to be out there functioning and thriving with that cancer growing inside him is remarkable. Definitely gone too soon. 

The subtitles would be fun.
