That was my thought when Colin Trevorrow was announced for IX. While I was crossing my fingers that Rian Johnson would last minute decide to direct it, I’d much rather the guy who made an entertaining TFA than the guy who made the loud, dumb and somehow not at all entertaining Jurassic World.

I never had the impression that bending the knee was in the message. It was left out intentionally and it was pretty obvious the show is going to use that to propel some narrative for the eventual meeting. At least, that was my take.
Same here. Did seriously no one else realize this while watching the episode?? I’m not sure why this is even being debated. He clearly is unaware that he is being expected by Daenerys to bend the knee.
