Rick in the comics doesn’t use a fake hand. I’m pretty sure Negan wouldn’t even allow him to have a fake hand. It’s supposed to be a lesson and a reminder to Rick and everyone that Negan is in control. A fake hand would go against that idea.

A one handed main character is a pain in the ass for Special Effects. In Agents of Shield they ended up giving Coulson a robot hand so they wouldn’t have to spend the money for Special Effects. Same for Ash vs Evil Dead.

Born and raised NYer here: Apartments with dishwashers are not normal in NYC since a lot of housing has free water and heat. Laundry in an apartment isn’t normal either.
