I was expecting some remastication of Aliens or the even worse sequels.

I worked at a movie theater when this was coming out so I had to suffer through the previews for it over and over, and while I thought it would be enjoyable, I had no expectations for a movie that was based on an amusement park ride. Then I watched it. Then I watched it again. Then I watched it roughly 20 times before…

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World is one of my favorite films, second only to Lord of the Rings. It's just so...insanely awesome/awesomely insane.

Speed Racer! The VFX literally tell the story in a way it couldn't have been told without them.

Blessed put in his own special effects, going "pew pew pew" as he "shot" his cardboard bazooka. Because of this they had to take another day to reset. Blessed didn't feel too bad as Jones was also a pretty hot hand with his prop gun, also filling in the "pew pews."
