It would be interesting to do a similar study where two of the groups were “lower” and used the exact same terminology and script except one mentioned this being the woman's average and one didn't.

Basically, they told the guys in the study (all college age between 18-23ish) that they were measuring grip strength. They had them squeeze a fake “handle grip”, like one of those hand exercisers, for x seconds and pretended to record data (in reality this thing wasn’t hooked up to or recording anything.)
