I am okay with this. Production costs for great games are high.

Which is already a 40+ hour game. Not to mention, taking story out of it, they had to redo engines and assets from the ground up considering it was originally a PS1 game and it only cost $60.

It’s also a shame that most consumers are people with salaries that have not kept for inflation and cost of living in over two decades.

They make obscene profits of these games already at the lower price points. The CEOs of the major game publishers have some of the highest remuneration packages of *any* company. Bobby Kotick alone brings in the entire budget of a AAA game every year.

If I thought that money was going to the people who actually make the games, instead of overpaid executives and shareholders, I’d be okay with it too.

I have absolutely no idea why you think a price hike to 70$ will do anything to deter games-as-a-service trainwrecks.

Adjusting for inflation doesn’t work like that in this context. These games also have smaller demand, so the prices are high to hopefully generate profits. On the other hand, so-called “AAA” gaming has a larger pool of an audience to sell their games to.

I wouldn’t mind the ten dollars if, y’know, there was a game developers union.

It’s that the one that chase you after a certain time passed? I played a little from Spelunky 1 but I didn’t like it because I take my time to explore. It’s the same with the second game? 😥 (I’m still waiting that some reviewer clarify this)
