Arcane was surprisingly good as well. I think I’d rather have more videogames adapted into series instead of movies. It’s fun to go to the theaters and have it be a big event but a series has more room to breathe and take it’s time telling a story.

I haven’t seen the Mario movie yet but I’m glad videogame adaptations

Also bums me out that the action oriented changes took control away from your party. I think FF7 remake did a decent job addressing that since it forces you to switch characters to heal and manage aggro but that’s been a huge bugbear of mine in the recent FF games.

Part of the fun of RPGs is having a party of weirdos

You could make the argument that the FFXIII titles sold so poorly on the xbox that square decided it wasn’t worth the effort to continue to release FF games on Xbox. I can’t say that it’s THE reason why square’s gone back to PC/PS releases only for the newer FF titles but it would make some sense to me.

I used to not like the art style but I started reading shounen jump at work out of boredom and after a while I really got into the story and grew to appreciate the art as well. It’s not a typical anime style but the series is so imaginative and weird that it just kinda works. In some ways it’s more like a cartoon than

It was also pretty satisfying to throw your weapons at enemies when they were about to break. That critical shatter effect was very satisfying. It’s kinda like the whole “running out of bullets and throwing the gun” gag except the gun explodes.

I think a lot of the complaints about the breakable weapons were due to the fact that the starting weapons were so brittle. Once the gear improves it lasts quite a bit longer and once you figure out that everything refreshes after blood moons it’s easy to stuff your inventory full of your favorite gear.

The only time I

I only played on PC but I ran the cartwheel move on my demon hunter for a long time and more or less used it as a dodge roll (also yes, did use it while backtracking to get around the map faster :p). Eventually I ditched it for a skill I wanted for the build and kinda missed it but thought the game was perfectly

That reminds of of when League had the tribunal system. It was flawed and inefficient but it was nice seeing the results of cases you reviewed. Not nearly enough to combat all the horribleness that competitive games bring out in people but knowing at least some people were getting banned for acting horrible was

It’s pretty hard to stream open world games and maintain numbers the whole time. Unless you speedrun or do challenge runs or something to put a twist on it you typically bleed viewers who want variety or just don’t find the game entertaining to watch.

There are always some diehards who will watch the whole playthrough

I’m ok with this. Pokemon gets to keep it’s mascot around and the new main characters get to use new pokemon. It would have felt bad if one of them just became the new Ash with Team Rocket trying to steal their Pikachu over and over again. Why even reboot it at that point?

Because we like collecting physical media? It’s not complicated.

It’s nice having a little collection on your shelf and it’s also nice to be able to swap games at will without worrying about having enough install space on your hard drive.

Day one patches aren’t as big of a deal as you might think either when it comes

You know what else? It also manages to be a beautiful looking game that plays well, is packed with content, has no microtransactions or paid cosmetics, and still only costs $60 despite the rest of the AAA industry trying to tell us that they can’t make games at that price point anymore.

I’d have never noticed this. The Huntress seemed like a lumberjack/woodsman to me so I assumed she had big stompy boots but I guess not.

Now playing

It’s a really interesting story. The Gaming Historian did a really great video about it a few years ago.

that’s actually a fair point. Artists do sometimes request to remain anonymous or are credited with pseudonyms for a variety of reasons. Voice actors do it all the time in games. Sometimes it’s actually a union thing or because of a opinion that acting in games is not as important to their work as an animation role or

Oh maybe. I was a girl so I’m not sure. It’s all subjective anyway.

All I know is I hated most of the clothes options in Sun/Moon (because most of them were summer clothes and I’m more of a fall/coat person) and Scarlet/Violet makes you wear uniforms and it kills me. The face/eye/hair options are getting better and I

I feel ya. I used to breed Vanillite in Sun/Moon because people seemed to have trouble finding it (it was a weather SOS battle iirc) and I could trade it for just about anything including ultra beasts. I was an ice cream man who traded frozen snacks for pokemon.

I don’t know why they didn’t bring it forward into the

I still have a lot of fondness for X/Y. It introduced character customization (and did it better than most of the games that have come out since imo) and it’s online trading was amazing. There were a lot of dummies wanting to trade their charmanders for a lvl 100 mewtwo and stuff like that but it made it very easy to

I love Diehard but I’m also pretty fond of the Hogfather. Book or the movie, both are a pretty good time.

I don’t think a price increase is reasonable. Plenty of other studios put out great games with far less budget and plenty of smarter people than me have written about why the $70 game is a byproduct of bad decision making and wasteful spending and not just a result of inflation or increased costs.

“We’re overdue for a
