Honestly, every game with PvE and PvP should have it’s own scaling for each. It’s frustrating to see PvE ruined because of PvP and vice versa.
I’d argue that balance in single player games is overrated but that’s a different argument.

I still kind of unironically love it. It’s not a good movie, but I always have fun watching it. It might just be Dennis Hopper hamming it up. I always get a kick out of the Smeat scene and the old guy in the oil well’s reaction to the explosion.
And this is how I find out that Anne Rice hated fanfiction...and is dead. Not information I expected to walk away with after a bored kotaku visit. Today’s a weird day
I love the original Valkyrie Profile (still got my PSX copy on the shelf) but Silmeria was horrible and Covenant of the Plume was just ok.
I was interested in this when I heard about it but the moment I heard it was an action game I lost all interest. I’m sure it’s fun for the right kinda person but it’s not what I’m…
Yeah I heard it too, though it was a lot more subtle than the usual in your face Brooklyn accent you usually see in media.
That was definitely more of a Bowser trailer and a Mario teaser though. Gonna need a bit more before I know how I feel about Pratt’s Mario but I don’t hate it so that’s a plus.
And they’re all made of tasty bacon.
I’d love to be able to go back to a theater but covid closed the only one in town so I’m kinda screwed.
On the positive side, that early movie streaming phase made it way easier to pirate new release movies in perfect quality without relying on crappy cam rips or waiting for the bluray release :p
The only game I ever hated weapon durability in was Valkyrie Profile, but that was because some of the breakable weapons were extra effective against certain enemy types. Having a dragon slayer sword could make a dragon miniboss easy to cut through but not having it would mean death or a really drawn out battle. So if…
So it’s Splatoon without any of the charm? :p
Honestly though, it’s not a bad mechanic to steal or take inspiration from. The timing is a bit sketchy but it’s not like the two games are really competing with each other. They both kinda do their own thing.
At the very least, I don’t think this is as shameless as the…
This was definitely me. I know about blackface and that minstrel shows were a thing, I just didn’t know they were called that. Before articles about this started popping up, if someone mentioned a minstrel show I’d have assumed it was a ye olden days thing since minstrel is a word I associate with bards and fantasy/med…
100 Thieves taking an 85% cut of the profits? Name checks out.
It’s always this. Young streamer, someone offers to pay you money to help grow your channel and get you sponsorship deals and similar. You make more money doing what you love and it feels great because you don’t know any better.
You find tons of stories about this kinda thing talking to streamers and youtubers. The…
Oh I totally get that. I actually use more ram than I need to as well for similar reasons. It’s sorta overkill in hindsight but better to have too much than too little
Gaming is a luxury. If you need money for a car you wouldn’t be spending it on a console either.
Oh definitely not. You can build something comparable for less than you think though and it will last you through several console cycles.
I’ve noticed the Sony stuff too. I used to always buy playstation because they had all the weird Japanese games and RPGs and until the last couple of years most of them didn’t end…
I’m not a pcmaster race type so don’t throw me into that mess. If you read my posts you’d see I play plenty of things on console as well. I’m not an apple guy so I can’t speak to any of that but you can build a good gaming pc for less than 2k.
Yeah when your desk becomes your work station it’s nice to be able to get away from it. I can definitely respect that. If gaming’s something you do for fun the last thing you want to be reminded of is work.
That’s why I said it was an investment. A decent pc can go a long time without needing significant upgrades (unless you’ve just gotta have the best of the best and constantly swap out parts when new stuff comes out). I put off PC gaming for a long time because I didn’t know anything about building a computer or what…
Ah well if you spend all day at a computer I can understand that. I’m sort of the opposite. When my tv died I hooked up my ps4 to my second monitor and now I just play everything on my pc because I like having the game on one screen and being able to look up guides or play youtube/podcast stuff if I’m grinding or…
Yeah but there’s no reason to buy an Xbox if you own a pc. Honestly, even if you don’t own a pc it’d probably be a better investment to just build a new one instead of buying a console because you still get access to gamepass and you can also play anything else that’s already on PC. Also, it wouldn’t become obsolete…
