When exactly did I say that? I just used her as an example because her career is alarmingly similar to Lorde's - famous at 16, writes own songs, songs are childish and simple, is female.... etc

I liked this type of music when Ke$ha was doing it 4 years ago. Lorde is not innovative. Lorde is not skilled technically or lyrically. She doesn't create the beat or instrumentals to her music. Subjective or not, I find it hard to find anything to judge her on.
If two people build a birdhouse and one looks like a bird mansion and the other is a few popsicle sticks glued together, and each costs $20, which one would you buy?
Indeed, we only hear about her and the moms that went to jail or were on drugs, but there's quite a few of these girls and a majority of them have their life somewhat together (as together as a young single mom can be right?)
As I mentioned before, she sounds like she's talking to a baby and is certainly not singing, she's talking. I've heard a lot of people give Taylor Swift a hard time about her breathy singing, but at least she's singing, Lorde is just breathy and autotuned.
Her age is being used as an excuse for her lack of talent. Lyrics aside, she has a terrible voice that is autotuned to oblivion and she doesn't play any instruments. As a musician, she should be compared to the people who were pros at their craft at the same age. Even Bieber could sing and play drums at 12. Lorde just…
Being young is not an excuse when you're looking at a person with worldwide success. She SHOULD be compared to older artists because using her age as a crutch for mediocrity is only going to shelter her and prevent her from actually growing as an artist (shoutouts to Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake,…
The beat was not made by her so, that's really the producer and musician's talent you're enjoying, not hers.
Ke$ha was doing the same thing and being more clever about it in 2010, Lorde is not an innovator on that concept. The second song of Lorde's I heard on the radio recently has the same theme as Royals too, so I'm not getting a sense of range.
I could forgive the childishness if she had an exceptional singing ability or some semblance of musical technique talent. That beat was manufactured, her voice is terrible. There's no real talent, and that's what bothers me. She's young, but not talented.
I remember not knowing who Lorde was and hearing Royals on the radio and thinking "did a twelve year old write this??" I was not far off in my assumption. I mean, I'm sure what 17 year olds have to say is relevant, but if she doesn't have the musical talent to back up sub-standard lyrics, I just can't get behind this…
I think she's on-par with Taylor Swift 8 years ago. Her lyrics are reminiscent of the skill and maturity a mediocre teenager would have and she has a following of obsessed fan girls that I don't understand. Taylor hasn't matured much and I doubt Lorde will either. They're going to continue to be told how great they…
My only criticism is that she ripped off BINGO is my Name-O
I wish Lorde's music reflected her intelligence. I feel Royals is childish and just plain terrible. I think her "singing" is basically baby talk with no real skill. I don't like her music at all and I wish Jezebel would stop pushing her at us like she some kind of amazing artist. She's not. She just gives a good…
She's just better at hiding it
NO WAY Taylor is totally Margaery Tyrell. Thinks she knows better. Meddles in others' love lives. Has exaggerated enthusiasm for everything. Dates lot of dudes who are closeted gay guys....
Justin Bieber's bodyguards held up traffic and blocked the road
Orlando Bloom didn't have to continue working. Those LoTR and Pirates royalty checks probably pay for everything and then some.
And the cop who stopped her was Chandra Wilson I believe. That show was riddled with people before they were famous
Had a gymnastics coach as a dad and a free trampoline growing up. lol to people who pay to jump around
