Make that fundamentalist Protestant and largely rural. Your pastor can be as weird as he wants to be - and lead the flock down the rabbit hole. There’s no central command or theological/intellectual authority.

I know this still happens, girls are primarily shuffled off to an alternative school or home schooled which just closets the victim. Plenty of parents accept this arrangement to keep their grandchild and they’ll also decline to prosecute the baby’s father. Even if he’s guilty of statutory rape. It is really sad.

Absolutely yes. I don’t know, but I hope schools are at least discussing maturity and responsibility regarding all relationships either personal, corporate, national or societal. But I’ve a sinking feeling that isn’t really happening.

Yes, it does happen. It happens a lot. It doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t talk about what the ramifications are. I wish that schools and students talked about this subject. Specifically, that it’s a much better idea to date someone very close to your own age until you’re out of high school at the very least.

There is nothing okay about either of these theoretical relationships. Nothing.

I'm just going to come right out and say it —- no fourteen year old should date a seventeen year old. And we should discontinue the assertion that girls are more mature than boys. It justifies nothing.

Goddamm iTunes is a clumsy complicated piece of weirdness. It is not user friendly - nor do I enjoy fumbling around trying to teach myself how to make it work.
