You do not tip at a fast food restaurant. Most chain fast food places do not allow the employees to take tips from customers. It might be mistaken as them stealing, or they could get fired. They also make minimum wage, which is a pittance, but they are making more than servers per hour.

As a restaurant customer, I do not feel 'shamed' into tipping. The system is in place for a reason.
