Most of the shows FX has aired in the last decade have been critical darlings or cult classics that few people watched live. They seem like a network who likes to court the small but loyal audience, which Pose has and which will probably grow especially when it ends up streaming somewhere.

I think it was a nearly perfect book and I thought the show was very good when adapting the source material. The more they flesh out both the story and the world the less it holds up, though, as Atwood knew to make it intentionally vague and surreal.
