I think the idea is he’s not doing the “yelling and waving arms” thing that he used to do

Are you seriously suggesting TW3’s combat was dumbed-down for consoles? Have you played the previous games, like at all?

Reddit has a really good guide for this, actually. As a VN fan, I’d say ignore the anime of FSN, play the VN and see Zero, but if you don’t want to read through one of the longest VNs out there, then you should watch Zero then UBW as they changed a decent amount from the source of UBW to cater to Zero fans.

Start with Fate/Zero so you can cry moar when shit gets real in Unlimited Bladeworks.

Anyone looking to watch this anime should note that the prequel Fate/Zero should be watched first. Not only is it just as pretty and with an arguably better storyline, it also introduces a lot of characters that appear in this series. It might otherwise be a bit confusing when Gilgamesh pops up and everyone acts like

PC performance in Arkham Knight.

I find that hard to believe, considering that every genre that exists in other forms also exists in anime. If you just don’t enjoy the animation of anime, then I cannot help you, but there are so many different types of anime that I find it unreasonable when people lump them into one category and blow them off because

For my initial playthrough I used the default skin because I wanted a serious tone but now that I finished the story I'm all about using that skin to mess around with.

Clearly you need to change the title to read:

“When a popular online game is shutdown, one boy refuses to log off—and then finds himself transformed into a powerful skeleton wizard as the game world becomes real.”

If you really want the feels, first watch Clannad and then watch its sequel. Buckets and towels may be necessary.

You know it’s not just in Europe right? California USA with a 100 up and down connection and it took me 4 hours to download 4 gigs.
