Weird thing about Street Fighter V when it was new: there were FGC people who hated it, yet couldn’t articulate WHY. Like, they couldn’t pin down a gameplay reason that made it a disaster.

Considering a lot of people see VRChat as an old internet style space that hasn’t been completely taken over by corporate interests, the response to being a niche may be “Good, and keep it that way”
Really love how dismissive this article is towards the predatory monetization. “Well casual players get lots of value, just look at all that conteeeent!”
I’ve definitely gotten the impression lots of people have been introduced to hentai THROUGH Overwatch porn.
It is sort of funny the ways people try to describe the appeal of Overwatch porn as if it’s some kind of new thing - all of the reasons are pretty much the same as why people like hentai. Non-anime fans catching up.
I would recommend taking Kotaku’s previous advice and playing the recently added Research and Destroy.
The headline description seemed curious to me, and then it dawned on me absolutely nobody remembers Valkyria Chronicles or Codename STEAM anymore I guess. :’(
I remain skeptical, since there was at least one other Jet Set Radio inspired game people were losing it over, which it seems everyone forgot about as soon as it came out.
Apparently someone promoting this at some convention or other billed this as a “Power Stone killer”.
It would be funnier if that wasn’t unironically what people actually do.
“Need to get bullied”. Right. Of course.
Would it be better if they kept it at full price until it was delisted?
Back when Dragon Ball Z was a long since done thing, the video games strained to find characters to add. I remember people trying to come up with ways to make the “weak” characters viably playable.
It’s good, Capcom developed PS2 game from 2003. Didn’t come out in America, but got an English release in Europe. Actually based on a Japanese CGI series (with two minute long episodes), which was dubbed but is little known since it only came out on DVD.
Sneaking in Gregory Horror Show I see.
I get the feeling the time between coming up with the idea and deciding they had to do it NOW wasn’t much. This could maybe be a valuable service in the future (especially with friends to take advantage of the family discount), but right now it’s clear they pulled the trigger way, way too early.
Steam was such a paradigm shift when it took off that I wonder how much people who were too young before then understand.
I couldn’t disagree more. The great part of Super Robot Wars is what a range there’s been over the years in terms of difficulty, from stuff that’ll make SRPG veterans sweat to easy going affairs - but more importantly, a lot of room to let you play how you want (skill points, upgrades/no upgrade runs, etc)
Giving my energy to the other lonely Sonic Forces fans across the world ;_;
I think the difference is Armored Core’s difficulty was never too far out of line with what you might encounter at the time, but the Souls games were without a doubt hard in a time when it seemed like absolutely everything was getting way easier. And that’s why they’re known for it now.
