It’s kind of bothered me that a bunch of major game outlets will cover absolutely anything else in the world at all before they report on indie game news. Board games, movies, thought pieces on obscure 30 year old TV shows, just anything at all before maybe telling me what video games have come out lately.

And now it’s a Pop’n Music reference

Konami lawsuit incoming

I assume those of you dismissing this line up already have Hard Corps Uprising. Because if you don’t and you’re ignoring this, I feel bad for you for missing out on one of the best side-scrolling shooters ever.

....jeez, I thought another writer was leaving for a moment there

Death penalty

...I guess this explains why this month and next month have some of their best Games With Gold line ups ever. Of course there was a catch...

...I’m gonna have to put in a good word for KOF ‘99: even if most sprites are reused from previous games, the game looks top to bottom fantastic. Some of the best backgrounds SNK ever did.

Mad respect for the Sonic Forces love.

I really enjoyed it and still go back to play regularly - I think people hated how short it was, but I like how it pared things down to the fundamentals. Absolutely worth a shot for anyone who hasn’t played it before.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. I was 100% prepared to laugh this off because lol 3D, but I’m finding myself talking people into giving this a shot.

You know who would really love a Sonic the Hedgehog movie for adults? 12 year olds.

It does simplify things a great deal that 2001 was the last NESTS saga story game, so his absence in the following game tales hasn’t really left caused any problems. (2002 and 2002 Unlimited Match, where he’s replaced by Nameless, are storyless “dream matches”)

It does make you wonder what happened exactly, if somebody

I would warn everyone not to get their hopes up - this is practically just a port of the original Gundam Battle Operation for PS3 (since their other sequel that changed a lot, GBO Next, didnt go well). It was, and this is, creaky, clunky, and hopelessly outdated.

That’s not to say there isn’t some fun to be had, but

Memorializing the defeat of the Yokai Watch fad.

Im not sure how a review can be this long and barely actually tell me anything the game.

It’s always felt to me like Fakku has only cared about creator’s rights up to a point - the thing articles like that Fakku puff piece from a few months back tend to gloss over is how slow they were to remove ALL the pirated content from the site once they started having legitimate content. There were doujinshi they

First thing that came to mind for me was SNK vs Capcom Card Fighters (which was by SNK anyway), but I know this is formulated as just another Hearthstone type thing. I wish they didnt all try so hard to look exactly like each other, although I guess thats how they try to hook people in.

It was good, although I found it to be less satisfying than his previous works, maybe because it was so straightforward.

I’m a little sad there had to be a jab at Yurikuma at the end of this review, since that show really spoke to me, even with it being so surreal. I hope that aspect of his work doesnt get quashed out

The thing driving me crazy about this is how people are now personally attacking the translator and making him out to be some sort of ignorant bad guy. Just over a translation that is, sorry, just as valid.

I mean...him saying “I like you” is STILL super gay, thanks to all the other context. But queers have to fit in

First Departurer

After what Konami did to the people who actually made these games, they’re not getting a single new cent from me.
