Against all odds, us Shadow the Hedgehog fans keep winning.

What’s likely to happen as a result? Game has to be thrown into an incinerator, or “just change the violating designs to something else and it’s fine”? I wouldn’t be shocked if they’re already making backup designs or something.

I had thought “maps that automatically mark places of interest when you reach them” were already the standard. Some games have manual map markers, but even that seems better than a bag of screenshots.

It’s Alan!

Interestingly he was also just on Aqua Teen Hunger Force (as “Anubis”).

Oh GREAT WORK Kotaku, making the issue look INCREDIBLY COOL with that awesome illustration

I was curious about the new Alone in the Dark and I thought it was unfortunate it got delayed to January, but...I see it was probably for the best.

Worth noting Momotaro Dentetsu, a board game title, had a new Switch game in Japan in 2020, which sold 3.5 million copies as of last year.

They could’ve redubbed them with the same voice actors and just not hired the one person.

It’s easy to forget the original 360 Kinect was a hit that sold millions of units. The 2010 launch, when it was apparent there wouldn’t be new consoles anytime soon but people wanted a new toy to play with, was pretty much perfect timing. It was great for family games.

I got the costume first, then I beat it.

There’s a selection of licenses from long dead companies owned by a handful of entities which seem to always show up on every weird $30 Walmart retro game device. This service seems to mostly be those, filling out the corners between the SNK, Lucasfilm, etc stuff.

“Fanboy shareholder asked X game company if they will continue old franchises”. We keep getting these articles from everyone. The answer they always give is “neither yes nor no”. What do people expect?

Honest question: If you want to see what people are saying on the internet - who don’t make videos - where do you go other than Reddit and Twitter now?

Forums are basically dead and Discords are more insulated. There’s, uhhh, comment sections like this, I guess. I’d gladly give up Reddit and Twitter, but it seems like

I’m largely uninterested in Playstation’s exclusives, so Xbox has been a great system for me. I appreciate the good backwards compatibility and their honestly pretty excellent rewards system.

I was initially tickled to see Shadow the Hedgehog on this list, but immediately let down with how it’s described as basically bad anyway.

Why is THIS a slideshow!?

I’m just saying that what Yoshida is talking about is accurate. If you don’t think any of that happened, then I suppose you think Yoshida is wrong. All I can do now is shrug.

I didn’t say the JRPG term was never used before then, just that it was used a lot more at that time.
