What I love about the MCU is that it’s set in our world but technology is somehow just that little bit more fantastic.

Oh. I love it.

What’s ridiculous is that Richmond aren’t already sponsored by a dodgy online betting site. After all every other team in the Championship and half of those in the Premier league are!

I thought the repeated use of ‘She’s a Rainbow’ in this and previous episodes was a not so subtle reminder that this is first and foremost an Apple show.

Whereas you can’t escape from Ted Lasso coverage.

He usually makes knitwear for other people

My bugbear about Ted Lasso’s depiction of Championship football was highlighted in this episode - their sponsor.

I think it’s been well established since Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon 21 years ago that Asian led action movies can turn a profit internationally and Hollywood’s pandering to the Chinese market over the last decade and a half also shows that they aren’t averse to a Yuan or two either.

Hmm, true although it is an aircraft that was designed by those dastardly Redcoats, so that might be in breach of the constitution.

...along with the soundtracks for Natural Born Killers, Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey and The Crow.

I can’t believe that awful piece of universe-destroying hack filmmaking has a name.
It’s not a maneuver for a start - it’s a kamikaze run and not the first time we’ve seen them in Star Wars either except somehow this time it manages to do something that is completely at odds with every single way space combat has been

I appreciate that the laws of actual physics can take a back seat when it comes to Space Fantasy but the important thing for any film or story is that they are consistent with their *own* laws of physics.

It’s a massive smash here in Australia. The fact that they’re being held in roughly the same time-zone, it’s Winter here and everyone’s currently locked-down because our Government are fucking useless when it comes to distributing vaccines, probably helps.

I hadn’t seen this post when I made my Sideshow Bob comparison further up the thread but its nice to know I’m not the only one who was reminded of it.
