You can walk around while editing? The last time I checked you had to switch to the normal interface to make changes. So you couldn’t edit in first person, but I haven’t used it in a while.
HAH! Not on Steam’s watch!
I actually did my fair share of level edition, thank you.
Is there such a thing as good sports commentary? For what I care they should just blend in information like yards, plays, who has the ball in real time, relevant statistics, and have everybody else shut up.
First, thanks for posting the video. This makes it a lot clearer what you mean.
No, I think you’re missing a part here. It would be like sticking paper to your face ... 2cm away from your eyes. You would not be able to focus on it optically, and you could only look around with your eyes, as it would follow your head movement.
You can’t just have 2D objects be an overlay in VR. That would be like sticking paper over your face and trying to operate something that way. It needs to be in 3D space in VR, because anything else does not work.
Yes, that’s something one would have to try. I, however, would argue that it would be easier in 3D as you can judge the space better than just with a 2D projection of 3D. You’d also need some precision controls for when you place objects on top of each others like that. So that they don’t intersect too much, but also…
I get what you mean, but I have to nitpick here and say that there is no such thing as a 3D interface in todays computing. It’s all 2D, or 2D projections of 3D space.
No, you don’t get a free demo, you get a chance to a free demo. “Closed Beta”, forgotten? Actual free demos are normally just a click away, and unlimited.
How is point and click in 3D space less intuitive than point and click on a 2D screen representing a 3D space?!
Good point, but, you know, they could simply make normal demos again to have people use polished code to judge products before they buy it.
“Who cares”? That’s like the weakest counter argument ever conceived. People that care care.
Looks really nice. The sense of depth this will add to level design, and the multitasking with two hand can be a real advantage.
Corrections: Those are not Oculus Touch controllers. Those are the Steam VR controllers, not sure if they have a real name yet.
Found all 4.
Because a demo and a beta are fundamentally two different things.
I’m making me play this game, and I will hate myself through all third person cutscenes.
MP pulls away money that else may could have been used for an ever better open world.
