It’s impressive how much effort people put into a device that isn’t even the best platform to play the game on, nor can you upgrade the hardware once the next generation hits.

I have played neither, but I wonder if Overwatch and it’s Beta may play a part in this.

It’s what they “aimed” for. The last thing I heard they learned that their tech can’t use bending and such. This made it impossible for them to make proper games*, and they moved on. Their tech is still valuable for 3D scanning, though, so at least they got that going for them.

I don’t think Euclideon ever sold out. Atoms aren’t just useful for gaming. You can bend them, apply shaders, or create them in an easy way.
