Agree: It’s practice v rehearsal. If someone would find it interesting/pleasant to listen to you for more than a few minutes, you’re not practicing; you’re rehearsing.
Don’t forget that not being able to tell which is correct is a sign that you need to rewrite the sentence. You probably have a clarity issue masquerading as a grammar issue.
Yeah. Tying it to mental health is a BIG problem. Mental illness is already stigmatized, keeping people from seeking help. And “having a mental illness” is an awfully broad net, and is not particularly predictive.
