I mean in that case might as well go RS5.

It turns out that moving the weight from 56% over the nose to 56% over the rear doesn’t make an Audi that much faster. This car is only about 3 seconds ahead of an RS5 on 2 minute tracks. It should be like 13 seconds faster. Put another way, the loaded R8 is over 10 seconds slower than a Viper ACR.

You’re way better off with a 570S than a loaded R8. Maintenance will cost a lot more on the McLaren, by a factor of 5x.

Honestly the V10 isn’t doing this car any favors. It really needs a turbo V8 developed specifically for motorsports. It’s just not that fast. Barely breaks 1:39:xx at Laguna Seca, which is a couple seconds off of the BMW M4.

This is super smart. Why did no one else think of this? I wonder if it works off the line or only when the car is moving.

$700 a month fully loaded cost for a GM car you can only drive 10,000 miles, so really $800? Nope. I could get behind their cars at a $15k-$20k discount off of the Germans.

Scumbag Eddie Bauer, says limited edition, sells more copies than Windows XP

We’re starting to see the production model X on the roads now in SF.

It’s just not cool enough. An Audi A6 is a better car.

Why did you write a buyer’s guide 4 years late for the 991.1 which you can’t even order any more?

This is hugely concerning. A GT350R might well be a death trap if you don’t install a full cage in it - none of this rear seat bolt in rollbar business. I feel like Ford has engineered a car to pass the government crash tests and missed the goal ensuring actual occupant safety. Can you imagine if this car wrecked at

You do recall they tried doing this on the Tesla Roadster and it kept failing, so they scrapped it. A 2 speed transmission, that is.

Well it’s not 1 transmission, it’s 2 or 4 transmissions correct? Even if they were only $3k each that’s a lot of money to drop the highway RPM from 8000 to 6000 or whatever, considering the motor will do 18,000 RPM.

This is truly one of the best cars America has ever made after the Tesla and the GT350 and Viper ACR, but it comes in dead last for me because GM’s brand is the most damaged. I don’t trust them on safety, reliability or quality. I have this nagging feeling that there are a bunch of Chevy Aveo parts mixed in this $90k

The key here is to keep the design simple and the components cost low. Anything is possible in engineering but most people don’t need it so they won’t pay for it. The stuff with the Tesla keeping up with the Hellcat is all just marketing. Nobody is driving them over 100 MPH.

I don’t think they make a CVT that can do 1000 ft/lb of torque. I thought those things shit the bed at 100 ft/lb.

You should. Unlike a dealership they don’t actually sell anything. They’re just brand ambassadors. It’s easier than trying on a pair of jeans at a store at the small.

Solid roof is great. I’m telling you if you drive both, 70 feels more like a game/simulator than a car. The “D” makes you feel like you have muted engine up front. The problem with the standard suspension is the ride height is kind of unsightly. I’m not into slammed cars but it has a Ford Taurus rental car wheel gap.

On the back of the envelope it should be. In practice it’s not. The area under the curve is what matters and in the Tesla it’s inverted. It starts with massive power which falls precipitously as RPM climbs. The gasoline motors stay in the meat of their power band with gearing, pulling hard in 3rd and 4th which are

I drove a 996 recently and it was a giant disappointment - loose, imprecise, didn’t inspire confidence. A 2007 GTI is a much more sorted out car. The 991 really is the pinnacle of sportscar and luxury badge, even in base trim.
