You’ve driven both a C4S and a C2S around a wet skidpad and determined that AWD takes the “edge” away? Please elaborate as I’d like to compare notes.

That Targa would still destroy the Exige on track, without you needing to be a pro driver you could put down better lap times. And, uh, Porsche is the highest quality car you can buy so it won’t have a dozen issues that waste your time like the Lotus. Plus, other people would like to ride in the Targa where no…
It’s hard to say whether they will be able to focus on bringing new models to the US, like the B9 RS4. If they can pull it off, those cars have high margins. Then again, they’re bigger polluters and the economy could turn on them just as they’re launching.
More like rolling 70-150. But the autobahn is full of traffic and few of us drive on it. The Tesla is the fastest 0-40 on the planet. Then the rate of acceleration falls off. So pretty much perfect for street use. The German cars just start feeling quick as you exceed the US speed limit, which is great provided you go…
The GTI is a much better car than the 2 series. Chopping 2 inches and 100 pounds off of a 3 series isn’t a better formula than the 3 series. The longer wheelbase makes it a bit more stable, and the width helps it feel bigger than a $10,000 car. RWD is great but results are better, and if you screw up in RWD with front…
Why would anyone pay $85k for the safest car to carry their love ones around in? You can get a 4WD Suburban with technology for $70k and it only requires $110 of fuel a week. Plus GM reliability and service that everyone loves. Free recalls!
If the 2 series isn’t a great car why will changing the engine make it a great car? It’s just like the GT4 doesn’t make the Boxster better than a 911, and it can’t win a best car competition.
This is definitely the best cheap track car. Probably a little quicker than a Miata, too. You deal with some old school tech like a 5 speed, but the price is right, the c(g) is low, and the weight is acceptable. It’s easy to drive above all else. The power delivery is a lot smoother than a Subi, even if it’s not as…
Toyota MR2, Pontiac Solstice and Pontiac Fiero belong on this list.
Most buyers will put a $3000 seat in this car.
“We are grateful you have chosen to purchase the 2016 Global MX-5 Cup car. Would you please share why you made this decision?”
$150k. I can’t see ever spending more than that in 2015 dollars. Perhaps that starts inching towards $200k by the time I can really stomach it.
I’d be interested to see if lower income people are forced to live in exurbs and have to travel more vehicle miles per year.
5 speed automatic. Seems like that still got it a 10.x second mile IRL
Whatever is cracking your glass might not at 0.24 CD. The rake is different and this is probably as thick as the bulletproof glass at a bank.
Self driving cars are 15+ years away. It will take a long time for programmers to codify our values as a society into a car, and longer for the law to figure out how to indemnify the software vendor that was driving the car. At some point the software becomes responsible for preventable deaths, even if it was fewer…
The cheap stuff in $40k German car seat and door inserts isn’t that great. The steering wheel trim in a GT3 is pretty amazing.
This car is not a good value compared to Boxster GTS with a few options for $78k. Maybe if you got a $15k discount on the showroom floor but you’ll take a giant hit if you order one.
A sedan is a compromise. An SUV is just giving up on driving excitement.
