Have a friend who can't play HL2 either. I've heard it's a known thing, about optics; maybe unnatura depth of field, width of field, or something completely different...

Maybe it's time people start appreciating realisation as much as innovation. I haven't seen enough of this thing to say it's innovating much (though actually the weapons didn't look boring to me), but I've seen enough to say it's got a very nice ambiance/art/feel.

I "think" I can vouch on that; I beat all my friends, non gamers and even "gamer friendly" I'd say, but I get thorn apart in pretty much any race online, and I'm sure there's even better players than the ones I've met.

Little personal note, I did throw a wrong punch in the past, hit with the outside of the hand and broke my little finger.

For me gamification is "fun", scoring, adiction brought to non-gaming fields (take points in foursquare for example).
