I work in the transportation industry. There are plenty of people who actually want to drive truck. It can pay quite decently and allow for a lot of autonomy.

Seriously? If you like to travel, and love to drive, truck driving is a great career! It takes skills and confidence, and pays much better than flipping burgers. Plus there’s no dress code, no office cubicles or politics, and nobody watching your every move while you work! I loved it- I made more money and had more…
Is it weird that when I read your posts, it’s vin diesel’s voice in my head?
that’s really fuckin smug of you
Why? What is wrong with those jobs? Would you rather we had self check outs & smelly shoes? I’d rather look down on the snob that left the shoes stinky than the person whose job is clean up their mess. You want your Amazon Prime purchases & get the coffee beans to your local starbucks for your $4 coffee, what makes…
Lots of folks want to be truck drivers. The pay is good. It's not as demanding as heavy labor. Your comment is elitist.
I dunno. I think it’d be interesting to drive all over the place and see new places. Obviously you can’t while working but surely you can take a break in whatever city you end up in and enjoy the sites.
Having done local delivery (driving a semi in a Bay Area) it’s not all that bad. Not the most exotic work, it’s true, but nothing to be looked down upon...my brother once observed that I was happier back then...
Why not? It pays well. Better than any of the jobs you mentioned and you work pretty independently. Don’t demean what you don’t understand.
The only reason for no one to want either of those jobs is that they pay poorly, which isn’t as applicable to truck driving. I actually know a number of people who enjoyed being cashiers/nannies/servers/doing casual construction work more than they’ve enjoyed higher status positions they’ve held later in life. Working…
The greatest silent take in comedy history.
Willy Wonka, Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, The Producers, and Silver Streak.
Zombies, yes, much like everybody else. Zombieland? No.
World War Z, they showed the best parts in th trailers while in the movie they showed all the things you should not do in a zombie apocalypse.
Yeah, there are zombie outbreaks, and there are plagues that are so bad you should just lay down and die. The zombies from WWZ were definitely the latter, and there’s no way I would even try to resist.
Agreed - very tired of the super hero flicks.... plus the superhero orgy flicks where they are trying to pack dozens of SH characters into each movie pretty much all suck..
The biggest stab in the heart of the garbage Hollywood version of the book came from a far superior Zombie film: 28 Days later where one of the soldiers in the compound in England basically made the case that infection couldn’t spread because it was so violent and so fast- how would it ever get out of England? (The…
I got tired of zombies when World War Z turned a great book into such a shitty movie. A 12-second reanimation cycle and super-speed? Seriously?
anybody else getting tired of zombies? If I wanted to watch a bunch of brain-dead monsters intent on destroying my life, I’ll just turn on Fox News.
Dear people on my Facebook feed: If you are boycotting Walmart because of how it treated one police officer and not how it treats millions of employees; if you are boycotting the NFL because it tacitly supports not standing for the anthem and not because it tacitly supports rape, domestic violence and traumatic brain…
